Pelham Children’s Center Rocks the Town Hall

posted by on

With over 150 kids and adults in attendance, the free children’s event hosted at Daronco Town House on Saturday, January 29th by the JLP Provisional Class for the Pelham Children’s Center was nothing short of a raving success. The littlest guests enjoyed an engaging musical program and exercised their creativity at the crafts table, while their parents mingled and learned about the Center and the services it provides. The all-star program included storytelling performance by Nora & Erin Lee from Storytime Stage, an interactive sing-along with Music Along the Sound, and an electrifying musical performance by Zev.

This exciting day was the culmination of a larger project undertaken by the JLP Provisional Class to remind Pelham and its surrounding communities about the Pelham Children’s Center as a resource for preschool childcare and education.  In addition to organizing the event, the newest JLP recruits updated PR materials for the Center, developing a new marketing brochure, banner, and collage board with the artistic assistance of the Cente’s children, and joined forces with the PCC board to launch a brand new website. The new websitewww.pelhamchildrenscenter.org went live shortly after the event.

The Pelham Children’s Center and the Junior League of Pelham have a rich shared history.  The JLP helped found PCC 40 years ago and remains engaged with the Center today. The Pelham Children’s Center has evolved over the years offering full-time daycare and preschool for children aged 18 months through 5 years, as well as after school programs at Colonial and Hutchinson elementary schools. Its educational philosophy is based on learning through play and includes a range of activities to facilitate social, physical, emotional and intellectual development. For more information on the Center, please contact Paula Belli, Director at pccdirector@verizon.net.
