Re-Imagining of Julianne’s Playground

posted by on

The Junior League of Pelham is renewing its commitment to update Julianne’s Playground between Third and Fourth Avenues in the Pelville Neighborhood. Though our original timeline has been delayed by the pandemic, we have stayed in touch with the Pelham School District and Pelham Recreation Department to fully understand the needs of the playground and how we can best redesign the space. We want it to be accessible for all and enjoyed by families for years to come.

When the original playground was built twenty years ago in honor of the late Julianne Borsella, an eight-year-old victim of Ewing’s sarcoma, The Junior League played a significant role in bringing the memorial and playground to the town of Pelham. We are taking initiative to ensure that the area continues to maintain a positive impact on the community. We want to continue to honor Julianne and her bravery, and help provide a playground that is a destination for everyone in Pelham Village & Pelham Manor.

The Junior League is committed to fundraising locally as well as pursuing state and federal grants and private endowments. The success of this project lays in the hands of the greater Pelham community.  Please support the park any way you can.
