JLP Community Affairs Round Table Meeting

The Junior League of Pelham (“JLP”) held their annual Community Leaders’ Round Table meeting at the Pelham Art Center on Monday, October 23rd at 7:30 p.m.  The purpose of the Community Leaders’ Round Table is to foster an open discussion among organizations, to discuss local initiatives and issues, and to coordinate project efforts where appropriate.  Leaders from seventeen community organizations in Pelham and surrounding areas attended and shared their primary initiatives and concerns.  After the meeting many of the groups expressed an interest in working together on projects down the road.Also discussed at the meeting was the JLP’s Community Grants Program. Grants may range from $100 to $4000 for the 2006-7 fiscal year.  Grant applications may be requested by contacting Claire Doyle, JLP Community Affairs VP, atclairekd@optonline.net, 738-7094.  The completed applications must be postmarked byJanuary 15th 2007. The Junior League of Pelham is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.
