More than 200 Guests Attend Junior League of Pelham’s Spring Gala

May 7, 2010; Pelham, New York Morethan 200 guests gathered at Siwanoy Country Club in Bronxville, New York, on the beautiful evening of April 24, 2010 to help the Junior League of Pelham celebrate the restoration of Weihman Park at the League’s annual gala.  Weihman Park project chairs Katie Stevens, Maria White and Alex Ablon were honored for their leadership of this highly successful project.  Guests heard from Ned Weihman, benefactor of the current restoration and son of Clifford T. Weihman, the original park benefactor, as well as Junior League President Virginia Hartmere and Pelham Manor Mayor, Jay Hayes. The event reflected the community effort employed in the park restoration. Guests danced to local favorites Mary and the Boys and the Weekenders, and lovely flower arrangements from Pelham’s own Greener by Design decorated the space.  Additional photos from the event can be viewed on Domenica Comfort’s website, raised from the night’s festivities, including raffles, live and silent auctions, will support the JLP’s mission based and community outreach programs focusing on healthy families, education and Pelham improvement.The Junior League of Pelham is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.
