PMHS Senior Brendan McCormick ReceivesJLP’s President’s Award ScholarshipAward Based on Outstanding Volunteer Service May 28, 2008Pelham,NY    PelhamMemorialHigh SchoolSenior Brendan McCormick is this year’s recipient of the Junior League of Pelham’s President’s Award scholarship. Presented each year to a PMHS senior who has demonstrated outstanding volunteer service in high school, McCormick was honored at the JLP’s Annual Dinner May 20th.  McCormick has been an active community volunteer since he was in the fifth grade. He has been involved with several organizations inside and outside of Pelham, including the Pelham Children’s Center,PelhamArtCenterand the Special Olympics. His most significant impact has been with the U.S. Africa Children’s Fellowship, where he initiated and organized a community-wide drive to collect textbooks, art supplies and sports equipment that were sent toZimbabweand distributed to thousands of school children.Kristin Bischof, President of the Junior League of Pelham, will presented Brendan with his scholarship check for $2,000 at the PMHS awards ceremony on June 4.
