JLP President’s Award to PMHS Senior Marlon Colindres

PMHS Senior Marlon Colindres Receives JLP President’s Award Scholarship Award Based on Outstanding Volunteer Service for PMHS Senior  May 16, 2007Pelham, NY;Pelham Memorial senior Marlon Colindres is this year’s recipient of the Junior League of Pelham’s President’s Award scholarship. Presented each year to a PMHS senior who’s demonstrated outstanding volunteer service in high school, Colindres was honored at the JLP’s Annual Dinner May 15. A check in the amount of $2,000 was presented by JLP President Elect Kristin Bischof to Colindres at a recent PMHS awards ceremony. And volunteer he did! As president of PMHS’ “We Care Club”, Colindres led a walk-a-thon to benefit the American Cancer Society, an apple pie sale to fund AIDS research and a holiday greeting card project for our troops inIraq. “This was a wonderful way to become part of our community in a positive manner, especially since I’m new toAmerica,” Colindres says. He also felt it was a great way to meet new friends while serving others.
