“Come Bond With Us!” was the call to the community from the Junior League of Pelham for this year’s fundraiser. The request was met with enthusiasm and over 250 people enjoyed a night of bonding at the “Diamonds Are Forever” event at the Pelham Country Club on March 24th. Guests were greeted by “Sean Connery” as well as a lipstick red Aston Martin as featured in Goldfinger thanks to Valentine Taubner, Jr. Denise and Jack Maskunas, Pelham Manor residents and owners of New Roc Harley-Davidson displayed three beautiful motorcycles at the event. Besides the fast rides, all of the guests took the suggested attire: “diamonds and spy chic” to heart and the Pelham Country Club was full of glitz, glam and glitter. Auctioneer Mike Mutti wow-ed the crowd and helped raise a significant amount of funds for Junior League of Pelham projects. Diamond Level Sponsors included C.S. McClellan Real Estate, Meridian Risk Management & Atlantic Mutual Insurance Company, as well as 560 Design.The Junior League of Pelham is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Through education, healthy families and Pelham improvement projects, the JLP bonds with fellow community members and organizations. Recent JLP projects have included, PACT, Pelham Loves to Read, Community Service Associates Soup Kitchen, My Sister’s Place Holiday Party, The Danny Fund, The Weihman Park Beautification Project and The Picture House Regional Film Center.
