Junior League of Pelham Helps Families During Holidays  Pelham, NY Jan 10, 2009 — The Junior League of Pelham’s annualOperation Happy Holidays was a great success this year!   In conjunction with the staff at thePaideiaElementary SchoolinYonkers, the JLP receives holiday”wish lists” from some of their families most in need. Some of the items on these lists are as basic as winter coats and warm clothing.  Junior League members then volunteer to purchase the items to fulfill the “wish list” and deliver the wrapped gifts to the school. This year’s program, chaired by Elaine Chang and Mary McGowan, helped 25 families by providing them with wrapped gifts for 40 school-age children. The JLP also donated 39 Target gift cards (valued at $25 each) for the older members of the families.The JLP delivered the gifts and cards December 19th.
