Junior League of Pelham Plans Annual Fundraising Gala for April 24

“April inParis” Will Be Theme of Event at Glen Island Harbour Club Pelham, NY March 26, 2009 — The Junior League of Pelham invites the community to its annual gala on Friday, April 24th, at the Glen Island Harbour Club inNew Rochelle. The night will include dinner, dancing, open bar, live and silent auction. The dress is Parisien Chic. This annual benefit is the Junior League’s main fundraiser. The proceeds help fund the JLP’s projects, which improve life for individuals and families in Pelham and the surrounding communities. With these funds, the JLP is able to: –        prepare and serve meals to 250 people each year at Community Service Associates, a multi-service family agency inMt.Vernon-        promote literacy through school and library programs in Pelham andMt.Vernon-        educate children about obesity, fitness, and healthy eating-        support victims of domestic violence at My Sisters’ Place shelter-        improve green spaces in Pelham, including the JPL’s recent major renovation ofMarthaEmmonsWeidmanMemorial Park Co-chairs Betsy Brady, Jen Dunbar, and Suzie Reavey have organized a fabulous list of auction items including: golf at Winged Foot; a party for 50 people at the Gnarly Vine in New Rochelle; a progressive dinner in Pelham for 15 couples; a city trip complete with two nights hotel, dinner at Le Gigot and theatre tickets to “In the Heights”; “Girls Day Out” for four, complete with limo ride, tickets to The Martha Stewart Show and lunch; as well as lodging at various vacation homes in Mt. Snow, the Hamptons, the North Fork, Quebec, and Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Tickets are $150 per person or $200 for benefefactor.
