Get Ready for Glitz, Glamour and Giving! Members of the Junior League of Pelham shopped for glamorous items at their January meeting to support community causes and embrace this year’s annual gala theme, “2007—Diamonds Are Forever.”  Fauxtastic, a local jewelry merchant, sold sparkling baubles, jewels, necklaces, earrings and tiaras all with a bit of glitz and glam.  Also, sets of martini glasses were available, with half the proceeds going directly to JLP causes. All are invited to support the JLP by attending its largest fundraiser in2007. The James Bond themed gala is scheduled for March 24, 2007 at the Pelham Country Club and will feature a live/silent auction, martini hour, open bar, cigar section, dinner, dancing and other action-packed happenings.  This year’s 007 theme will provide the perfect backdrop for a lively and elegant evening filled with all the glitter and glam of James Bond. Dress code: Black-Tie Optional; Diamonds and Spy Chic Preferred! The JLP bonds with fellow community members and organizations through education, healthy families and Pelham improvement projects.  Our Pelham Loves to Read project has raised essential funds to support school and local libraries in need of new books and materials.  Our financial and volunteer support for Community Service Associates’ Soup Kitchen helps provide meals to those in need.  Our Martha Emmons Weihman Memorial Park Beautification Project has pulled the Pelham community together to help restore one of Pelham’s green spaces to a peaceful walking park.Invitations for the event will be delivered community-wide in mid February.  Those who attend will support the JLP outreach projects that benefit Pelham and surrounding communities.
