The Junior League of Scientists, the Pelham Public Schools and the Pelham Education foundation are proud to bring William Kamkwamba to our community.

Mr. Kamkwamba wrote the critically acclaimed book The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind which is the true story of his life. Mr. Kamkwamba grew up in central Malawi and taught himself how to build a wind turbine from scrap to bring electricity to his small village during a famine. If you have not gotten a chance to read the book, there is still time to pick up your copy at the library before the author William Kamkwamba joins us.
