Junior League of Pelham's Light Up Pelham a Success December 13, 2009 Pelham, NY December 10th's "Light Up Pelham" event, organized by the Junior League of Pelham, was a success despite the windy conditions. It was too blustery for many luminaries to stay lit, but there were still some beautiful displays throughout the neighborhoods and in front of businesses along Fifth Avenue. Additionally, the Barsanti family arranged a festive caroling party for the evening on Park Lane. More than 340 families, businesses and community organizations participated, raising funds to support the JLP's many programs, including the new Pelham Community Food Pantry, the children's story hour at the Pelham Public Library and the JLP Community Grants Program. The Junior League of Pelham thanks everyone for their contributions. The JLP is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable. For more information, please call 914-738-1603 or visit www.jlpelham.org.
